Get together day

It's been almost 3 weeks since we work from home, due to office close.
We had get together day event at Okura Hotel in Tsukuba which is 3min. from my home.
It was nice to meet each other. It looks that our company is looking for temporaty location to work.
Our GM told us that it is a good chance for office rennovation and it will take quite sometime
until new office opens...

Cherry blossom

Japan Meteorological Agency announced today that cherry blossoms
in Tokyo come into flower. It is 6 days late than last year.
The photo above is the one I took yesterday at Kankiji.

400 years

I went to Kanjiki, Bando city, 25km west from Tsukuba to see cherry blossoms.
It is not full-blown yet and a bit late compare to last 2 years.
Believe it or not, it is 400 years old. 400 years ago... it is Edo period where Tokugawa family rules Japan.

Brave men

I was so impressed with interview of hyper rescue team who put water on Fukushima nuclear power
plant, to cool it down. They really saved Japanese people from worst case scenario.
I am really proud of them.

Spring is coming

10 days have been passed since earthquake.
Radiation effects from Fukushima nuclear power plant is getting serious.
The government ordered Fukushima, Gunma, Tochigi, Ibaraki pref to stop the shipment
of spinach to the market. I hope it will not become another food shortage in Kanto area.

Thousand shrine tags

It's been a week since earthquake happend on Mar 11.
I sometimes feel it is a long week and sometimes feel it is passing so quickly.
Mar 21 is our national holiday and I will take a rest on 3 days weekend, and continue to
work on recovery next week with our colleagues. Good luck on us!

Working girl

Government announced today that we would have wide range of power supply shut down.
As a result, railway company reduced # of trains suddenly around 5pm and it made people
rush into the station and made very very long queue. It is a good chance for us to think about
working at home through IT like our company is doing...

Crisis management

I've been busy with crisis management in my company since last Sat.
It will be a long week this week.

Water supply in my area seems to be recovered and get stable power supply,
as Ibaraki pref is one of the affected area and government exclude from
rotated power supply stop area.

Change

As you can see, it looks nothing happened and just peaceful day.
Nothing has been really changed before/after earthquake as far as this view.
TV only shows affected area and people but it is about northeastern area, especially the coast area.
Though it is not perfect world, we are still OK in Tsukuba area.

Sold out

I went to supermarket near by my home. All vegitables are sold out.
Fortunately, I could get some in another store and secure some foods at least for next 2 weeks.
In my area, water supply is very limited and we are expecting 6 hours of power outage every day.
Don't be panic, as we're still much much better than those people who lost houses, families.

Earthquake...

This is the photo of our cafeteria, one of the most impacted areas in our office.
It is very lucky that nobody in our office got injured by tremendous huge earthquake yeaterday.
My family and I are safe and OK, though I am really sad that lots of people in northern part of Japan
got severly impacted...
