Smiles

I still remember that I learned the longest English word is "smiles"
in my English class, because there's a mile between each s.
I wonder if this is a popular joke in English speaking countries...?

    He's cute and his smile is sure infectious. I can't help but smile back. Must have been good sets out there that morning.
